Today marks clossing session of Ramadan Tafsir in the Islamic World and His Eminence the Chief Imam, Dr Shaikh Alhaji Osman Nuhu Sharubutu invited the Vice President, Members of the Executives, Heads of Political Parties, Judiciary, Diplomatic community and Imams to grace the occasion.
In an interview with the chair and Leader of the Convention People’s Party at Abose Okai Central Mosque, Nana Frimpomaa explained that she has always seen the need to participate in such special Muslim programs because the nation Ghana has coexisted relatively peacefully among Christians and Muslims and all our energies should be centered on consolidating this beautiful unity in purpose.
The vocal and aticulate leader related that, she finds the annual Ramadan of muslims as a period of reflection on humanity and special moment where muslims pray for the peace of Ghana. Nana added that medics prove that conscious fasting is positive to the rejuvenation the body and commended muslims for the practice.

Nana Frimpomaa lauded the national Chief Imam for inviting her to the occasion and asked for Allah’s blessings in his life. She said the goodness in the personality of Dr Sheikh Osman Nuhu Sharubutu is the reason for his advanced age. ‘Sheikh Nuhu Sharubutu has proved to be father for all. His council and advice in critical times has helped resolved serious conflict situations in this country’.
The closing session of the 2021 Ramadan Tafsir was under the theme: ‘Promoting Quality Education, Key to Alleviating Poverty And Ignorance in Our Communities’.
Tafsir is an Arabic word تفسير which derives from the root word ‘Fassara. Fassara intends to clarify, to elucidate, to expound, to explain or to decipher. It further implies the clarification or translation of something. Tafsir signifies moments of deep knowledge sharing.
The vice president His Excellency Dr Alhaji Mahamadu Bawumia gave the key note address. He tauted the free SHS as the single most successful academic policy ever. Other speakers included the Dr. Tanko of Korlebu Teaching Hospital, Justice Omoro Amadu Tanco from the office of the Chief Justice, Hon. Henry Quartey – Greater Accra Regional Minister, His Excellency Iain Walker – the British High Commissioner to Ghana, His Excellency Meshal Hamdan Al-Rogi – Saudi Arabian Ambassador to Ghana
