Nana Akosua Frimpomaa wins ‘2022 Woman of Excellence Award’


The Chairperson of the Convention People’s Party Nana Akosua Frimpomaa Sarpong Kumankuma has on the occasion of International Women’s Day recieved an Award for her industrious humanitarian services.

Ghana Women of Excellence Awards 2022 confered on the Queen Mother ‘Woman of Excellence’, an Award in Recognition of her Outstanding Contribution to the Social and Economic Development of Ghana in the Category of National Politics at the plush Coconut Grove Regency Hotel in Accra.



The event was patronized by the cream-de-la-cream of distinguished Ghanaian Women whose divers fields have impacted positively in the area of medicine, psychology, sociology, politics, business, academia, economics, finance and sports

Nana Akosua Frimpomaa in a press interview after receiving her award, thanked the good people of Ghana, his family and the Great Conversation People’s Party for their unwavering support over the years. Nana Hemaa retrieted her firm conviction in the the democratic principles of state policy and asked the Ghanaian Youth to take over their country only by the power of their thumb in the next election.

The time is riped for the youth of Ghana to take responsible positions in the CPP across the regions and constituencies and take back their beloved country’. This she added will propel Ghana into Economic Independence.

Other Awardees were, Ms Philippa Larsen, National President of the Ghana National Association of Teachers (GNAT), CEO of Shanti Jewelry and Chairperson of the Federation of Ashanti Regional Goldsmiths and Jewellery, Ernestina Agyapong.

Dr (Mrs) Cynthia Amaning Danquah, a senior lecturer, Department of Pharmacology, of the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST), Kumasi, who won the 2020 Africa Oxford Research Development Award (AfOx ReDA) from the University of Oxford, United Kingdom recieved an Award for her Outstanding performance in pharmacology.

Dr. Suzy Aku Akpene Puplampu (DBA, FCCA, ACSI) Chartered Wealth Manager (ACSI), Chartered Accountant (FCCA), Distinguished Toastmaster, Mentor,
and CEO & Wealth Manager at OctaneDC Ltd recieved ‘Women of Excellence’ at the coconut Grove Regency Hotel.

17 years young Ms. Ruth Ama Gyan-Darkwa (born 29 May 2004), a Ghanaian academic prodigy, the youngest student to be admitted to the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology in Kumasi was the toast of the night as she recieved her award in the field of academia.



Ms. Ruth Gyan-Darkwa had her primary and junior high school education at the Christ Our Hope International School in Kumasi, and the Abraham Lincoln Junior High School respectively. She later moved to Justice International School in Kumasi to continue her junior high school education. Due to her ability to learn quickly, she spent a term or two in various classes and was skipped to the next. At nine years old, while in her first year at Justice International School in Kumasi, she sat for the Basic Education Certificate Examination and passed. As a result, she gained admission to St. Louis Senior High School also in Kumasi where she studied General Science at the age of ten. She completed her secondary level education in the year 2017 at the age of twelve. In 2017, she gained admission into Kwame Nkrumah University of Technology to study Mathematics, making her the youngest student to be ever admitted into the school.

Her accomplishment attracted financial support from prominent Ghanaians to her and her family. It is known that the current second lady of the republic of Ghana, Samira Bawumia pledged to finance her tertiary education and to cater for the medical expenses of her parents. Her sister, Josephine Gyan-Darkwa, who is known to have excelled in her exams also received a scholarship from Bernard Antwi Boasiako to pursue her dream of studying medicine in Germany.
