You are NDC Communicators – Musah Superior Slams Professors Gyampo & Mensah Following Political Appointments

Musah Superior, a leading figure in the New Patriotic Party (NPP), has launched a scathing attack on Professors Ransford Gyampo and Kobby Mensah, branding them as covert operatives for the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) who disguised themselves as neutral commentators. His remarks follow the recent appointments of the two academics as Acting CEOs of the Ghana Shippers Authority and the Ghana Tourist Development Authority, respectively.

In a strongly worded statement, Musah Superior alleged that Gyampo and Mensah were never politically neutral but rather active NDC strategists who consistently undermined the NPP through media engagements, writings, and behind-the-scenes advisory roles. He accused them of using their influence to sway public opinion against the ruling party, ultimately contributing to its electoral defeat.

“These guys were overly determined and really worked tirelessly to promote the NDC while labelling the NPP as evil, corrupt, and inept,” he asserted.

They participated in NDC strategy meetings and contributed to their political, communication, and organizational strategies. Gyampo, in particular, manipulated the University Teachers Association of Ghana (UTAG) to push an anti-NPP agenda.

According to Musah Superior, their appointments are a reward for their loyalty to the NDC, suggesting that they actively sought high-profile government positions in exchange for their political advocacy. “They were tired of being lecturers. They needed JUICY JOBS. Ransford, in particular, was broke. So they supported the NDC conditionally, and the leadership of the NDC accepted the conditions,” he claimed.

Despite his criticisms, he acknowledged that former President Mahama’s decision to appoint them aligns with the principles of modern political patronage, comparing it to Donald Trump’s recent strategic appointments in the U.S. government.

“Patronage politics has come to stay. You do not appoint people to serve in a government without evidence of the work they did to bring the government to power,” he argued, emphasizing that political appointments worldwide favor individuals with proven loyalty and contributions to ruling parties.

Ending on a sarcastic note, he congratulated the two professors on their “NON-TEACHING succulent jobs” while vowing to monitor their performance closely in their new roles.

This explosive statement is sure to ignite further debate on political neutrality, patronage, and the role of academics in Ghana’s partisan landscape.
